The article then quotes other people saying it's stupid, the first of whom is a BBC reporter.

I think the BBC in its current format is in its death throes and can't come to terms with it.
The last few times I have checked out comments on one of their stories, pretty much all of their ridiculous culture war bullshit is being called out, they are becoming despised.

Sexist to men and women, stereotyping. Imagine if a bloke said that. Would the ban continue during world cup Olympics etc when everyone is involved, ridiculous. So many other subjects are more alienating , music ,film, TV , art , gadgets ,politics etc

I'd be quite up for this actually. There's nothing more toe curling than Monday morning office football BANTZ, predominantly conducted by Man Utd and Liverpool 'fans' who haven't been within 10 miles of their stadiums. Not to mention not being able to call each and every Spurs fan a cunt.
